I gifted some fun t-shirts to one of my best friend's son for his birthday. And a few years later she voiced to me how upset she was he was growing out of them. So I offered a solution to revive them and extend their life a little bit longer. In the past I would purchase band t-shirts and cut out the screenprint designs and sew them onto hoodies similar to patches. I thought, "why not do the same with this little guy's shrinking t-shirts?"
I used my sewing machine to get the job done quickly and have the thread nice and tight (I understand, however, a true DIY punk hand-sews their patches onto their garments).
And while we're talking about t-shirt transformation, here is a book I've had on my wish list for many years. Generation T: 108 Ways to Transform a T-shirt and Generation T: Beyond Fashion: 120 New Ways to Transform a T-shirt.
