Meet Mia

On July 30, 2008 close to 9:30 in the evening, M and I received the phone call we had been waiting to get: our Mia had just arrived into the world.

Mia is our cream-colored, female French Bulldog.  And it was fate that brought us to our little sugar lump. Here is the short of the story: M was leaving for his graveyard shift at the hospital one evening when he ran into a woman moving into the store space below our downtown apartment. He politely introduced himself and she did the same. She mentioned we would be seeing her dog a lot as she would be bringing her to the store often. He asked what kind of dog and she replied, "French Bulldog-- I breed them."  He was like "What?! Hold the phone!"  And raced upstairs to tell me who he just met knowing that I have always wanted a Frenchie.  When I lived in CA there was a pet store in the same shopping center where I worked. During my lunch breaks, I would "check out" the black brindle, male Frenchie who was for sale.  The store allowed people to rent out, free of charge, their dogs to take for walks or a "test drive" in exchange for their identification cards.  I had voiced my love of Frenchies to M all the time when we got together and he too wanted one after learning about them. They are the perfect apartment companion.  So that fateful day was the beginning of making a dream come true for us both.  I ran downstairs to speak with our new neighbor.  We chatted all things Frenchie.  After working out a few kinks with our landlord and my employer, we were preparing for the birth of a Frenchie of our very own.

Breeder: Aimee Marsh can be reached at 949-306-8973 or via email aimeemarsh@aol.com. In preparation for Mia's arrival we saved loads of money getting all our supplies, toys and furniture, etc. from Pet Edge

Mia is a fur ball full of Snuggles, Snorts, Sass, Stinkiness, Snores and Silliness.  I call her my little Piggy, Coconut Ball, Best Friend, Sugar Lump, Sassy Pants, Snuggle Bunny, Pickle and Macaroon.  Below are some photos of her, leading up to when we got to take her home at eight weeks old.  I will post more soon, as I have loads more to share.
