Happy Mother’s Day!
Teacup Frenchie
It all started with a onesie.
I was shopping for some cute baby clothes for my niece when I stumbled upon this onesie at Target. I had to get it for BB. I thought it would be a fun idea to recreate the caricatures and it would be even more perfect to have her wearing the onesie. We already had a pair of heart shaped glasses. So I immediately started brainstorming on how I was going to make a jumbo size teacup that BB could fit inside of. I found this large plastic planter at my local Ace Hardware store and found some foam to use for my handle. I needed something that would be flexible but somewhat dainty. After researching, I found thick foam furniture table edge protectors and thought that would work brilliantly. I was right. I ordered the white, but it was more of an off-white and didn’t look great, so I spray painted it white as a primer and painted it with acrylic paint that closely matched the blue planter. Then I trimmed my handle with some mirror gold paint, the same I used to paint the rim and bottom of my ‘teacup’ planter. This was just the first step for the teacup to use for this specific shoot. I decided because this prop entailed much more work than most of my props, I would incorporate it in other shoots, aptly titled Teaspotting. Now our jumbo teacup will get a bit of makeover accompanied by a matching saucer. Both of which will be featured in some upcoming photoshoots. Stay tuned.

Bridgeton
(photo) Netflix Bridgerton Series Poster
When the new Secret Garden collection from Frenchie Bulldog was released, I immediately started brainstorming our photoshoot theme. The bright blue and coral floral pattern reminded me of Marie Antoinette. So I thought ok, white lace cuffs, that amazing MA wig, and definitely some pearls. While looking for background or prop ideas, on the Internet, I came across the new Netflix poster for the series Bridgerton. That was it! This very scene was what I was going to attempt to replicate. It was perfect because we could also play with her name for our title. I already had a cute Corgi toy and could find some dog toy balls. And though their croquet mallets are obscenely large in the photo, my DIY ended up being entirely too large too and it was near impossible to have BB hold it up on her own. Like one would expect when conducting a photoshoot with an animal, we had to improvise. Anyway, I thought I’d give you a little insider info on how or why this photo was created in the first place.

"Rabbit, Rabbit, Rabbit!"
Hoppy 1st day of April!
Did you know that it’s a superstition (found in Britain and North America) to say “Rabbit, Rabbit, Rabbit” first thing in the morning on the first of each month? Me either, or at least I don’t remember knowing it.
Saying the phrase out loud upon waking before saying anything else is supposed to bring you good luck for the rest of the month. You can shake things up a bit too, by saying “white rabbits”. Both are thought to bring good luck as rabbits are considered lucky creatures. Really, no foolin’ here.
If you are just learning about this good fortune ritual and you have already uttered your first words today, have no fear, there’s still a chance to ward off any bad luck lying in wait. Before you go to bed, again on the first of each month, you can say “black rabbit” or “tibbar, tibbar”, which is “rabbit, rabbit” backward. Keep in mind that superstitions are only as powerful as you let them be.
Well, there you have, rabbit. A little carrot of info, my gift to you. You’re welcome!
Come back and visit us again because this month’s photo series is aptly titled The HareShow. See what we did there? And we have some eggstra fun shoots in store for you. So stay tuned.
